Smith & Wesson 38/44 Heavy Duty revolver chambered in 38 S&W Special. Has a 6.5" barrel with an excellent bore, chambers, and mechanical condition. Also has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, extractor, and yoke. The blue finish shows light holster wear and patina on the cylinder and grip straps, with a case colored hammer and trigger that has a few freckles. The S&W Magna checkered walnut center diamond grips are chipped at the top. This is a Pre-Model 20 with a 5-screw frame, 4-line address, and a large S&W trademark on the side plate. It has a round pinned barrel and includes a letter of authenticity from the S&W Historical Foundation signed by Mr. Roy R. Jenks identifying this revolver as an Outdoorsman model of 1950. The revolver was made between the years 1956 to 1957, serial number S154XXX, C&R eligible, and is in overall very good condition. Used.
