Remington Rand 1911A1 semi-auto pistol chambered in 45ACP. Has a 5" very good Colt National Match barrel and is in good mechanical condition. It also has a short stamped trigger, checkered Remington Rand hammer, an early checkered safety lock, a later grooved slide stop, an early checkered mainspring housing, a .080 wide serrated front, and a rear revision 6 sight. The thinning parkerized patina metal shows some mottling and light pitting, the grips are smooth walnut. Has a Remington Rand Type 3 slide marked with a Crown over "BNP" proof. On the left side of the frame is a "FJA" (Frank J Atwood, Col) inspectors marking, and the right side is marked 'UNITED STATES PROPERTY", "M1911 A1 U.S. ARMY". On the right side of the frame there is a "NO" serial number prefix, ordnance "CROSSED CANNON" inspection cartouche, and a British crown over "BNP" (Birmingham Nitro Proof). On top of the slide and left side of the frame, there are "P" proof marks. It has a Colt manufactured 45 auto barrel that is marked "NM" and the drawing number "7791414". The left side of the barrel lug is marked with "M" and "P" and the right side is marked with a boxed "C". Includes a WWII Risdon Manufacturing, Co-Colt subcontract magazine. This 1911A1 has serial number 1018XXX, manufactured in 1943, C&R eligible, and is in overall good to very good condition. Used.
