Remington 1903A1 (Modified) bolt action rifle chambered in 30-06. Featuring a 5-42 dated "R A" barrel with an excellent bore, ordnance bomb, and "P" proof, excellent mechanical condition, "NS" (nickel steel) marked type 2 bolt, "R" marked rear sight assembly and stamped sling swivels. Has a milled 1903 trigger guard with a thinned bow, milled magazine floor plate and buttplate, and a very good parkerized metal finish (bottom metal was polished before parkerized). The lightly cleaned Remington 8A straight grip stock with reinforcing bolts has a weak "RA" (Raritan Arsenal rebuild stamp), ordnance wheel, circle 'P" proof at the wrist, numerous acceptance stamps forward of the trigger guard, and an indecipherable inspector's stamp. This rifle has a serial number of 3160XXX, was manufactured circa 07/1942, is C&R eligible, and is in overall very good condition, used.
