Marlin/Ballard No. 5 Pacific falling block action rifle in 45-70 Govt. This rifle has a 30" refinished blued octagonal barrel with a dark shootble bore, good mechanical condition, traces of mottled case colors on the receiver, with stronger case colors on the ring lever, hammer, trigger housing, and checkered steel shotgun buttplate. Also features a Lyman ivory bead front sight, Rocky Mountain rear sight, double set triggers, ring type lever, and has a ramrod mounted under the barrel. The nice satin refinished furniture with a straight grip and Schnabel forend has a few dents and light scratches. This rifle has "Marlin Fire Arms Co. New Haven CT U.S.A." and "Ballard's Patent, Nov 5, 1861" address on the receiver. This antique rifle manufactured circa 1876-1891 has a serial number of 245XX, and is in overall good to very good condition, used.
