M1 Garand semi auto rifle chambered in 30-06 with a Springfield receiver. Has a "SA" 4-63 dated "NM" barrel marked with DWG # "7791035", "Y21", "P M", & three stars over eagle in box, excellent bore and mechanical condition, "SA" bolt DWG # "D 28287-12SA over RE68", "NM" op rod, "IHC" trigger housing DWG # "D6528290" with stamped guard and "SA" hammer DWG # "5546008, and "IHC" safety, tuned trigger, hooded "NM 520" aperture rear sight, and a "NM 062" front sight. The excellent parkerized metal finish has a few rubs and minor high edge wear and the lightly cleaned/refinished walnut furniture shows a few dents and dings and has remnants of "DAS" (Defense Acceptance Stamp) and circle (P) proof at the wrist. Includes a 1907 pattern leather sling with steel fittings marked "MRT". This rifle evidences many of the characteristics of the Springfield Armory Type 2 National Match rifle manufactured circa 1960's including glass bedding of the stock. The barreled action is so tightly fitted into the stock that it is inadvisable to remove the assembly from the furniture however it is possible to remover the trigger housing assembly. Has a serial number 1178XXX, receiver manufactured circa February 1943, C&R eligible, overall in very good plus condition.
