Japanese Arisaka 99 bolt action rifle chambered in 7.7x58. This Nagoya manufactured long rifle does not have a series number and has an intact "mum" and type numbers, mismatched bolt assembly with a plum knob and matching numbers on the bolt (welded firing pin hole), firing pin (ground tip), extractor, and knurled safety. The chrome lined bore has a welded-plugged chamber, functional unfiring mechanical condition, correct anti aircraft sight with "FAT" wings, inverted "V" front sight with protective ears, and early issue barrel bands with provisions for a mono pod and cleaning rod. The thinning original blued/patina metal finish has some pitting on the bottom metal and buttplate. The sound original two piece stock with drain holes shows dents and gouges from heavy service. Approximately 8,000 Nagoya manufactured long rifles were made circa 1940-1941. This early manufactured rifle has a serial number of 52X, is C&R eligible, and is in overall in good condition.
