A good solid gun, I bought mine at a local gun show for $400 new, I then bought 1 colt 7round clip, 3 Kimber pro tac 8 round clips, a Wilson Combat tactical beaver tail and Pachmer signature grips to custom fit it to my taste. The clip that comes with gun feeds reliably 75% of the time, but the colt and Kimber clips feed perfectly ever time, I borrowed and a friends Wilson combat clips and they don't feed as well as the kimber clips.I was surprised that after 200 rounds of 230grain hard ball and 300 rounds of 185 grain semi-wad cutter that the gun did not even jam once.If you buy one I would recommend that you buy a couple of Kimber Pro Tac 8 round mags for the most reliable feeding.

I'm astounded, for lack of a better word, that people pay up to FOUR OR FIVE TIMES MORE for a 1911 when you can buy one like this for a fraction of that price.I was at a certain large sporting goods store a few days ago, sounds like Rabelas, and saw a guy shell out nearly $1,700 for a Kimber. Is it a better pistol? Maybe. But is it worth the hefty price tag associated with it??? No,and you'll never be able to convince me otherwise either. There's a lot of different varieties of 1911's out there but the good old fashioned "GI" version, like this is,is definitely my favorite. Don't get me wrong,I LOVE my modern, hardened plastic, high capacity Springfield XD .45 and would have it on my hip as backup if the fecal matter ever truly hit the fan,but there's just something about this classic design that speaks to me and Rock Island really did a superb job putting this one together/pricing it right. But I think i'll continue to keep my WW2 Remington Rand 1911 on the wall and take this guy to the range tho!
