The HEX receiver is dated 1929 and is in great condition. It was exactly what I was looking for. The barrel is in great condition and was inspected thoroughly, after the cleaning party. Placed all parts in separate bags and put them in the sun. Cosmoline was almost all melted by the end of the day. Afterwards, ran a lot of cleaning rags through, before giving it a good oiling. Then put the weapon back together and shot about 150 rounds through it. It needs some adjustment on the front site. Otherwise, it is a great shooter. J&G Sales provided great service in delivery of the rifle, bayonet, sling, and cleaning kit, including attachments, oiler/grease container, bolt tool, and mag/accessory pouch. Stock has a few dings, but nothing very noticeable.
I never get the hand select option when I buy from J&G sales because I always get great product. This Hex Mosin is a great example of that. When it arrived at my FFL I found out they had sent me a numbers matching 1934 Izzy with out a hand select fee. Like I said always a great product and service.
The Mosin Nagant I received exceeded my expectations. I chose the hand select for appearance and bore option and both factors are excellent. I am very pleased with the experience and would order from J&G again.
Was a touch leery on adding $40 each for the MOs, but I like the history behind em, so I decided to go for it. Glad I did. Received a '29/50 and a '34/51 Tula. Beautiful condition. Slight pitting on the outside of the '34/51, but was painted over during refurbing--purely cosmetic at this point. Covered by the stock, so not even noticeable otherwise. Couple of neat stamps on it too. Awesome once again. I wish they had been in pre-war stocks, but that is once again more of a knitpicking thing than a complaint--these postwar stocks were in fantastic shape. The '29/50 may have the best stock I have ever seen in fact--nearly perfect. Great job here as well!
