Japanese Arisaka 38 bolt action rifle in 6.5x50 Japanese. This Koishikawa (Tokyo) manufacture has no series number and an intact "mum" overstruck with a ring of small circles indicating the rifle was removed from military service and issued for school training. There is a school mark stamped between the "mum" and type "38" characters on the receiver ring. It also has mismatched numbers, an "S" barrel proof, good somewhat dark shootable bore, good mechanical condition, ladder rear sight, and an inverted "V" front sight. This rifle has an original blued/patina metal finish along with traces of a "Straw" finish on the ejector box and rear sight springs, there is also a thinning nitre blued finish on the magazine follower. The sound two piece stock shows dents and dings from service and has Japanese characters stamped near the rear sling swivel. Includes cleaning rod. The rife was manufactured circa 1906-35, is C&R eligible, and in overall very good condition, used.
