A Nitride finish has similar hardness and corrosive resistant properties to chrome but is more durable since it is a treatment that physically changes the molecular structure of the metal and not a simple coating.

I would highly recommend that you look at J&G Sales before you make any firearms purchase. Not only did I find the rifle I'm looking for at J&G Sales, I also found it at the lowest price anywhere. Wasn't sure which one to get this RAS47 or a WASR. Ended up going with this mostly because the magpul furniture and this seemed to be a bit higher quality. Well I'm very happy with my decision this gun is very solid! It's accurate for an AK platform and it seems like it will last a long time. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an AK style rifle. The magpul furniture is also everything I hoped it would be. Oh and the trigger on this thing is great.
