First, the service I received from J&G Sales was top notch. Good communications and fast shipping. I asked them to hold the shipping until my local FFL got back from vacation and they did so with no problem and shipped the day I asked. I bought the Canik 55 TP-9 because I was looking for a striker fired 9mm and the reviews for this pistol were very favorable. The price for the package was the best deal around. This semi-auto comes as a kit with two 18 round magazines, a holster (Blackhawk Serpa style and comes with both a belt and paddle attachment), cleaning gear, two different size back straps, and a hard case. The fit and finish of this pistol is excellent. The trigger is a little stiff at first but started to loosen up after about 50 rounds. I really like the de-cocker mechanism on top of the slide and in front of the rear sight. As far as shooting this pistol all I can say is outstanding! I was shooting two inch groups all day at the range. My groups were a little low but that was due to me and not the pistol. To me, the grip is at the perfect angle for comfort and control. I have one other Serpa style holster for a Glock 20 SF and the Canik holster is on par with the Serpa for quality ans ease of use. I like having two mounting options for the holster. Take down and reassembly was as easy as any other pistol of this type and was uneventful. Canik is a major manufacturer of firearms for the Turkish military and they are a completely modern firearm producer. The primary reason I bought this (other than I just wanted it) was for the two 18 round magazines. What the 9mm lacks in power compared to the .40 S&W or the .45 ACP it more than makes up for in capacity. A total of 19 rounds (one in the chamber plus magazine) is some serious firepower. I will say the newer powders and bullet technology has, in my humble opinion, made the 9mm more competitive with the larger handgun calibers compared to a few years ago. I have to say, the quality of the Canik and the way it shoots is very close to my Springfield Armory XDm at half the price. The Canik is equal to, if not better, than any other pistol I own and worth a look if any of you are contemplating purchasing a pistol for self defense. If you are debating purchasing this from J&G Sales pull the trigger (sorry for the pun)! In closing, if I had to do the purchase all over again, I WOULD! In fact, I may buy another one for my wife. Now if I could only find a bunch more of 9mm ammo at a reasonable cost......;) Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

I'm so happy I bought this gun! J&G Sales shipped it quickly and it arrived at my FFL in a nice box with the holster, extra mag and extra grip backstrap. It shoots straight as long as you get used to a somewhat heavy double action trigger. Single action is much better, but don't expect a hair trigger, it's still a bit heavy compared to a full time single action like my model 1911.
